The Surry Central High School Class of 1965 held its anniversary reunion at the Mount Airy Country Club Saturday, July 21. Honored guests were R.O. Lanier, retired principal, and his wife, Glenna, and Gene Everette and his wife, Pat.

Special music was provided by The Royals Combo, comprised of classmates Gene Barker, Tommy Wall, David Sidden, Ronnie Phillips, and Bobby Simpson. This was a real labor of love, for these boys had not played together for 25 years, until a few weeks ago. They did an outstanding job and everybody danced and stomped the evening away.

The long distance award was won by Dr. Jerry Hemric of San Diego, California. Jerry is a dermatologist there and several classmates lined up during the evening and kept pretending they had skin problems. A good time was had by all.
